The art of make-up is a professional field and therefore requires knowledge and skills learned from experienced make-up artists. At May's Professional Beauty and Make-up School, training is provided by a team of highly-skilled behind-the-scenes make-up artists, a Cantonese Opera star, working along-side experienced hairstyling experts with backgrounds in TV and film production and in high-class salons. Our specialized teachers provide the comprehensive training needed for those who plan to be or are already make-up artists or hairstylists.

Our instructors draw on years of professional experience and precious "knack" they have learned, to provide students with an in-depth understanding of make-up and hairstyling, while all courses are comprehensive and include theory, analysis, and demonstration along with hands-on practice, for the greatest enhancement of students' skills and creativity.

We provide students with an ideal learning environment, and ensure our main lecture room is well-equipped with all items needed for each course, such as a digital camera, video camera, a computer and projector TV, projector screens, studio backdrops, special photographic lighting, costumes, hair pieces, hairstyling equipment, and consumable professional make-up products. Where applicable, instructors provide lecture notes along with record sheets, helping students to gain confidence and mastery of the skills taught. Each individual course teaches a particular type of make-up art, thus providing students with the specialized skills they need to develop their careers within the industry, whether in film & TV make-up, wedding make-up or various types of stage make-up.
